Art in the Time of AI examines the role of contemporary art during an era of rapid technological innovation. Just as artists during the Industrial Revolution reacted to the machinery of their day, either by embracing or rejecting it, the artists in this exhibition consider how modern technology impacts their practice. Do traditional media become less relevant, or do they take on a new level of urgency? Does the handmade process become more deeply valued? How is the role of the creator redefined when machines can instantly generate images and objects? In framing these questions, the exhibition draws historical parallels to the Arts and Crafts Movement, the Bauhaus (especially its legacy at Black Mountain College), and other moments of rapid societal transition. 

The exhibition focuses specifically on how Door County artists navigate and respond to these shifts. Selected insights from conversations between the artists and curator accompany the artwork, offering viewers a window into the mind of the working artist in the age of AI. 

Featured artists include Adam Fulwiler, Elysia Holland Michaelsen, Marjorie Mau, and Tony Staroska.
